WAVE CLOUD SAND from Matt Kleiner on Vimeo.

WAVE CLOUD SAND is a short film comprised of moving pictures. Photographed throughout the east coast of Australia, the film's aim was to show the intricacy and beauty of the simple things that surround us. Focusing on the empty canvas WAVE CLOUD SAND shows that action is a relative term.wayoftheocean.com/blog

Travel Story February 01 2010

On my trip to Australia last spring while working the new movie WAY OF THE OCEAN the surf was pumping day in and day out. Australia was experiencing their "El Nino" and conditions were great. Check out wayoftheocean.com/blog/ for video clips, photos, and the stories from behind the scenes. This particular shot was up on the bluff at a secret spot in New South Wales.  No crowds, plenty of waves and lots of wildlife under those waves. The fishermen just out on the end of the rocks were pulling in Yellowfin like crazy and said they spotted a pretty hefty looking white shark just the day before. I guess that is pretty much "natural crowd control." After shooting photos and video most of the day conditions cleaned up even more and the waves started to imitate some West Oz point with clear blu water and offshore winds grooming perfect left tubes..  Glad I got a shot of my board before I snapped my it on my 3rd wave.  Needless to say my session was cut short but I still have the image of my last barrel before it clipped me and sent me to the beach.
