Yater Switch Hitter - Ep. 2: Yater Spoon x Yater Classic

We’ve heard the comments. When’s the next switch hitter? Will we ever see Troy surf again?

Well after a year, the wait’s finally over. Our gift to you this Christmas, a brand new Switch Hitter now live on YouTube.

Troy returns south, this time dusting off a Yater Specializer Noserider, riding both a Yater Spoon template and a Yater Classic fin. Two fins on opposite sides of the spectrum, yet could both be daily drivers for any surfer.

Described by Troy as “grounded”, the Yater Spoon locks in on noserides in tight pockets. Similar to a traditional D-fin, but with surface area cut in the back, the template still allows for some solid turning ability.

Continuing the test and the one word theme, Mr. Mothershead felt the Yater Classic as “slashy”, giving him a bit more release when stepping on the tail and the ability to do some more “hi-pro” longboarding as the kids call it these days.

Check out both these True Ames' classics and video below!
