The Spicy fin, designed alongside the fine folks at Channel Islands, is a classic upright style single fin that has been optimally tuned for a performance style setup. Created with CI's new mid-length Tri-Plane Hull design in mind, this fin is the product of a collective effort between Devon Howard, Britt Merrick, and the team at True Ames. You can expect the Spicy fin to preform with a loose and pivotal style that will have a springy feeling due to the flex in the tip, but will still hold through a solid turn. The Spicy fin fits nicely into our offering as it has slightly less base than our Yater Classic, and is slightly more upright than the tried and true Liddle L-Flex design. If you're searching for a way to 'spice' things up within your single fin quiver, this new design will surely be able get the job done.
Our Volan fins are fine tuned with a precision foil as well as proper flex. They are handcrafted in Santa Barbara, CA and go through the strictest quality control. Fins made with Volan fiberglass and properly aligned for optimal weave orientation have very high performance flex characteristics — with the flex coming more from the body of the fin rather than just at the tip.
