Alex Lopez grew up immersed in Hawaii’s deeply rooted surf culture, where craftsmanship, performance, and respect for tradition run hand in hand. Developing his reputation first as a stylish surfer, Alex translated that same fluid, rail-driven approach into shaping — building boards that balance glide, control, and responsiveness across a wide range of wave types. Influenced by classic Hawaiian lines and the evolutionary twin-fin and alternative movements of the 1970s and ’80s, his designs reflect a thoughtful blend of heritage and modern refinement. Today, his work carries forward that lineage, producing boards and fin templates that emphasize speed, connection to the wave face, and timeless, functional design.
