The Boardroom Show 2026

Where The Craft Comes Together

We are long time supporters and attendees of the Boardroom Show (aka. Sacred Craft) and 2026 was a special as the rest. Getting such a core, dedicated mix of craftsman and surf equipment enthusiast under one roof to showcase their best stuff is a real treat.

We, at True Ames, put together our usual limited mix of fresh hits, including:

The Surf Craft People!

We caught up with a few of our favorite board builders posted up at the show. It's super inspiring and really impressive to be at a show with so many surfboards. Each booth with it's own take on board design and aesthetic.

Hobie with Kris Carlow

The Hobie crew, with Kris Carlow at the helm, are truly carrying on the deep and unmeasurable heritage of Hobie Surfboards. Building 10/10 quality surf craft in Dana Point, California, keeping the legacies of shapers like Terry Martin and surfers like Phil Edwards.

Kris and Troy hammed out on the latest Hobie Aloha Collection drop, inspired by Hobie Alters love of all things tiki.

Donlad Brink

Donny Brink has become a regular at the Boardroom Show, year over year, bringing a solid mix of experimental craft to share design ideas and gear up the curious surfer with a new feeling.

Donny has been working on a single fin shortboard design. Pairing it with our Norm Flex, he's trying to find "not quite a training aid" to help evolve and progress his surfing in mediocre conditions. What a fun goal!

Wayne Rich

Wayne Rich is a man on a mission. He's a renowned board builder, absolute master craftsman, and mainstay at the boardroom show with his handcrafted metal sign lit up bright red behind his throwback dragster. He's a pure one, and lord of the underground.

Troy and Wayne discuss a bit about the latest Mothership model, something they've been working on together for the last long while.

Kirk Putnam and Liddle Surfboards

Kirk Putnam is a long time surf hero, especially in the Santa Barbara, Central California area. He has diligently taken on the role of Liddle Surfboards sales person, manager, doer of all things. The Liddle hull designs are a magical niche of surfing, not for the faint of heart, but an unbelievable experience for those willing to tap in.

Kirk walks us through using the 9" L-Flex in a 6'10" finely foiled out Greg Liddle Surfboard Designs GL/PB.

The Best in Show

Every year there a best in show exhibition, where board builders submit a surfboard based on a theme and criteria. This year was big wave gun, and the boards did not disappoint!

This years winner was Randy Cone, a hardcore Mavericks underground legend, who built a spectacular board, with some super unique rails and stringer build.
